    Jul 18, 2009 · Truck runs excellent, but overheats at 55-65mph. Carrying a load or inclines will make it heat up faster. On freeway it will run 200+ even in 50-60 degree weather. It will cool down and stays at 170 if you are stopped or at 45mph or less. It sounds like the fan kicks in when cruising at slow speeds, but I never hear it when reaching 25mph+.

Also, the range shift shaft is broken off flush with the gearbox housing, leaving the transmission in LOW range.     On this 4300 when you push the handle foreward it seems to be hard to push and kind of clicks into engagement. Here comes the real problem. When you pull back to disengage you have to pull hard with much resistance and then all of the sudden it lets go and disengages so fast that the belts on my mower squeal and the blades on my rotary cutter slam together.

    My problem is with a "defective" O-ring on the actual DT 466 engine not on the sleeper or after market product like the blower or inverter, etc. International is the responsible party when it comes to defective manufacturer parts.

    Mostly if you're not already overheating, the fan clutch will be disengaged and spinning weakly only via residual bearing and clutch friction. The only way to force the clutch to engage for a test if it's not already overheated (without having a Tech II or other high end $$$ scan tool) is to remove the relay and jump 12V straight to the fan clutch control input.

    I desperately need a component locater and wiring diagram for a '03 4300 international. I have no ac clutch and cannot find the clutch relay or thermal limiter(if there is one). I have checked the hp & lp switches, there is another switch on the high side line near the condenser that has 3 wires, 2 grey & 1 green, only 1 grey one has continuity.
